With B78 you take the practical test in an automatic and the licence remains restricted to automatic cars. B197 adds required manual training and an internal skills check; you test in an automatic without the same automatic-only restriction.

Twelve special drives are required for a first-time Class B licence. There is no honest universal number of regular practice lessons—it depends on progress, prior experience, consistency, and safety. We use progress checks instead of sales promises.
